The modification and processing of starch are of great importance due to easy a ccessibility, regeneration and biodegradation ofstarch. Current methods of starch modification and processing are discussed. Their applications on fiber have expanded the using area ofstarch from food industry to wearing materials, nonwovens, sanitary textiles, papermaking,etc.It is also pointed out that new methods arestill left to be explored since the structure and morphology of starch is different from other polymers.
