This paper presents the SO2 detection which can check the failure of SF6 electricity equipment based on the failure analysis. SO2 is main decomposition products of SOF2 which is stable and easy to detect. The contents of SO2 are much higher when the failure is involved in solid insulation material. There are many methods to detect SO2. Using test tube to detect is easy and sensitive.
