This article presents the clinical material of 80 cases of renal tumours.Only 7 cases were correctly diagnosed when the patients were first seen in the clinic,whereas 44 cases (55%) were misdiagnosed before operation.Misdiagnosis may arise from:(1) omission of abdominal examination,(2) lack of proper evaluation of various clinical manifestation on physical examination,(3) undue stress on clinical value of hematuria,(4) overlook of the extrinsic manifestation of pediatric renal tumours,(5) difficulty in diagnosing complicared acute abdomen.(6) atypical appearance in renography,and (7) errors in accessory examinations.We conclude that the abovementioned seven points are important in establishing correct diagnosis of the condition.
