Conventional operations for the repairing of hypospadia have a higher recurrence rate. Since 1979,we have adopted a modified technique of anterior urethra extension and penis immobilization in a straightened state for the repairing used it in 5 cases with satisfactory results.4 cases belonged to the penis type and the other to the scrotoperitoneal type. The repairings were carried out in one stage. This technique is simple and safe and requires no pre-operative cytostomy. The main steps are:(1)to mobilize the corpus cavernosum urethrae to the bulbus of the urethra by sharp dissection,(2)to extend the anterior urethra forward and pull it through the tunnel made in the centre of gland penis, and(3)to immobilize the penis in a straightened state supported by thick, compressive dressing.
