Pragmatic vagueness is a common phenomenon in verbal communication.Furthermore,it is an important strategy widely used in diplomatic language.This thesis explores the pragmatic vagueness by analyzing diplomatic English.Employing pragmatic vagueness in diplomatic language call help a diplomat to gain foremost national interest and win honor for his/her motherland.
