Branchy tamarisk, also known as Tamarix chinensis, is one of the most common plants on the plateau, which has following features: developed root system, good vitality, easy propagation and cultivation. It is one of the excellent sand-fixing plants, meanwhile, its strong salt resistance ability made it can grow on Saline-alkali land with 0.5%-1% Saline-alkali content, and it is good for transforming saline-alkali land. Its major specificities are as follows: drought and saline-alkali tolerance, leanness-resistant and sand burial resistant, water wet tolerance and great adaptability. This paper discusses the planting technology of the Branchy tamarisk in Taihang Mountain area from Tamarix chinensis introduction and treatment, soil preparation, planting, management etc.
