In order to raise the voltge quality and the safety coefficient of the powe grid, a 10kV reactive power automatic compensation unit has been applied in the substation of port. This paper introduces the disposition, structure characteristics and applying effect of the GWBZ-IO reactive power automatic compensation unit. Also it states the effect of the reactive power automatic compensation unit used in the port＇s substation and its realistic significance.
