To eliminate the by-pass is an inevitable trend of flue gas desulphurization development in coal fired power plant. Two typical general arrangements of flue gas desulphurization equip ment without by-pass were introduced. The influence of elimination the by-pass on the generator unit and flue gas esulphurization equipment was analyzed. Three measures for raising the reliability and safety of flue gas desulphurization equipment without bypass were proposed. Finally, the economical efficiency of flue gas desulphurization equipment with bypass and without bypass were compared and analyzed, and it was pointed that the cost of the flue gas desalphurization equipment without bypass is far lower than one with bypass.
