The antioxidant and antimicrobial effect of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. were reviewed. The results showed that antibacterial component of Schisandra chinensis ( Turcz. ) Baill. was uncertainty, and antioxidant and antimicrobial mechanism of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. were unclear at present. It was very necessary to conduct in-depth study. The prospects of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. applied in medicine, health products, food were put forward, too.
