This paper analyses switch sampling principles of the generator rotor grounding fault protection. By opening one switch and closing the other,two group equations are established to measure rotor grounding fault resistance and grounding fault location. A better plan of switch sampling protection for grounding fault of generator rotor and the design concept of protection circuitry are elab-orated through an analysis of protection circuitry basic principle. This pratical design value is confirmed.
