There are four absorption peaks at 228,263,335 and 423 nm of the berberine sulfate solution. The linear relationship holds between the absorptivity and the concentration of the berberine sulfate in the rang of 1 -50 μg/mL at 423 nm. And the regression equation is A =0. 014 3C ＋0. 001 5 with the correlation of 1. 000. The proposed method was applied to determine the berberine sulfate injection with satisfactory results. The principle and the advantage were discussed simply.
