The application of multi-core processors in the measurement and control devices of secondary protection of power equipment is presented. Combined with the basic concept of multi-core processors and the typical hardware solution of power intelligent electric device, the design and implementation of an embedded multi-core processors in new low-and-medium-voltage relay protection devices integrated with measurement and control function is described in detail. And the method of data transmission-sharing among multi-core processors based on message mechanism is proposed. Finally, some prospects of application trends of multi-core processors in power secondary equipments are shown.
