The performance and restoring model of magnetro-rheological damper are introduced,two simple and feasible semi-active control strategy are proposed.A numerical simulation is made on the seismic responses of a 3-story frame structure.The result shows that the strategy 2 is more effective than passive control and strategy1,the structure responses induced by earthquake are reduced obviously.
