The excitation and reflection spectra of Sm2+ in CsSmI3 in solid state were reported. The fine energy level structure of the Sm2+ in the iodide crystal of CsSmI3 was obtained. According to the related theory of the J1Гn level split on the lower crystal symmetry, the excitation and reflection spectra are assigned by the energy level diagram.
