Germany is one of the first countries to have their own national development plans for electric vehicles (EV). The cooperation between the government and the industry in Germany has set a good example for other countries. Based on the analysis of the latest development of the EV industry in Germany, this paper analyzes the role of the German federal government and its actions to take for the next step, summarizes the major features of German EV industry, and presents some suggestions for the development of EV industry in China.
