This paper analyzed the reasons of real-operation accident of transformer differential protection, which hap-pened in a hydroelectric station on the eastern Hunan, then gave the necessity of load testing on the transformer differential protection, and focused on the methods to get and analyze the data of load testing, and find the problems that exist in the differential protection.
