The optical and mathematical theory of electronic shearing speckle pattern interferometry (ESSPI) is analyzed.The construction of Wollaston prism is dissected. The mathematical equation of strip of shearing speckle pattern interferometry is drawn. Based on all about these, the field-applicable portable shearing inspection system is designed. Testing software is coded. Much inspection test of honey-comb composites is conducted. The relation of loading amount and strip levels is analyzed. Finally, the application results are satisfactory.
