26 phosphate-solubilizing bacteria were screened from 179 rhizosphere, rhizoplane and root endophytic bacterial strains of moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) plants. The phosphate-solubilizing bacteria included fourteen rhizobacteria isolates, eight rhizoplane bacteria isolates, and four endophytic bacteria isolates. Bacillus sp. BK24 showed the highest phosphate solubilizing activity (369.06 mg/L). Phylogenetic analysis based on the partial 16S rDNA sequences indicated that the strains were clustered into four groups:thirteen strains of Firmicutes (50.00%),five strains of Betaproteobacteria (19.23%),four strains of Gammaproteobacteria (15.38%) and four strains of Actinobacteria (15.38%). The dominant phosphate-solubilizing bacteria were Bacillus and Burkholderia, which was 38.46% and 19.23% respectively.
