Abdominal arteriography was used in 14 pediatric cases by Seldinger Technique. The patients aged between 1.1 and 14 yrs.Abdominal aortography was carried out in 9 cases,
celiac arteriography in 2 and superior mesen.teric arteriography in 2.Ten of them were diagnosed respectively as choledochal cyst, portal hypertention, gastrointestinal bleeding, tumour or mesentery and renovascular hypertension.Diagnostic effects were satisfying without causing serious complications.Angiography is a valuable diagnostic measure but the incidence of complications is higher, the most serious being catheterized arterial spasm and subsequent thrombosis.Under the condition that a sufficient flow rate in the catheter is assured, the smaller the needle and catheter, the better.Limiting the time of the catheter's stay in the body is important in reducing and relieying spasm.Indication should be strict.
