    In this paper,the progress in the preparation and properties of AlCrN coatings for carbide tool is reviewed.The properties,such as thermal stability,oxidation resistance,wear resistance,hardness and adhesive strength are emphasized.The research status at home and abroad of AlCrN coatings for carbide tool are also introduced.
