A method for determining the content of 6-benzy-laminopurine in ethephon by HPLC was established for the first time. The column selected was waters symmetry C_(18)(150 mm × 3.9 mm×5 μm); methanol-water mixture (50 : 50, v/v) was used as the mobile phase;the flow rate was 0.8 mL/min and the detection wavelength was 270 nm.The linear equation was: y= 9.35× 0~6x-3.52×10~3(r = 0.999 8).The linear range for detection of 6-benzylaminopurine was 32.9μg~411μg ( r = 0.999 8). The average recovery of 6-benzylaminopurine was 98.2% with RSD= 1.42%.
