The technical characteristics of laser surface modification of aluminum alloy,including laser surface alloying,laser surface remelting and laser surface cladding were discussed.The hardness,wear properties and corrosion behavior of laser treated layers were analyzed.The recent development in this field and the problems in laser treatment were summarized.The improving methods for laser surface treatment of ahiminum alloys were also elucidated.
