从各个历史时期绘画发展的状况看，云南壮族绘画史可以分成四个阶段：其一，原始氏族部落时期“濮越”的绘画，这是云南壮族绘画艺术的萌芽时期，作品具有原始简朴的艺术特征；其二，句町国时期“濮僚”的绘画，这是壮族绘画艺术的成熟时期，作品具有精美娴熟的艺术风格；其三，土官、土司统治时期“濮侬”、“濮衣”和“濮傣”的绘画，这是壮族绘画艺术的发展时期，作品具有敦厚神秘的艺术特质；其四，近、现代的绘画，这是壮族绘画的融合时期，作品具有丰富多彩的艺术倾向，反映了壮族绘画与其他民族文化艺术的交流与融合。

From the development of painting during each historical period, the history of Zhuang＇s painting in Yunnan can be divided into four stages： first the primitive clan period is the budding stage, during which the paintings by ＂Puyue＂ have the simple and original artistic characteristics; secondly the Gouding Kingdom period is the mature stage, and the paintings by ＂Pulao＂ during this period have the fine and skilled artistic styles; thirdly the period ruled by Tusi or local officials is the development stage, and the paintings by ＂Punong＂, ＂Puyi＂, and ＂Pudai＂ have the honest and mysterious artistic features; fourthly the modem times is the merged stage, and the paintings of this period have the colorful artistic tendency and reflect the cuhural and artistic exchange and integration amon~ Zhuang and other nationalities.
