英语教师最怕遇到基础较差、气氛不活跃、学生回答问题无限期拖延的英语课堂,这种现象明显阻碍了课程的顺利展开,其根本原因在于学生语言技能不足,从而导致教师独占课堂.作者试图运用现代语言教学理论对这种现象做出解释,并对如何解决这一问题进行了初步探讨,以期在未来教学实践中进行验证.

This paper is focused on how to deal with a low-levelled EFL class in which most of the students keep silent or an undue delay in response to the teacher's questions,which hinders the smooth unfolding of the lessons.The root cause lies in the students'inadequate level of language skill.which will evidently lead to a typically teacher-dominated class.The author tries to seek out what is behind the problems based on recent language teaching and learning theories,and explore some solutions to be verified in the future teaching practice.
