神经系统如何产生和传递不同的信息,这是神经信息编码规律的研究中最为基本、最为重要的方面. 在这一领域,非线性动力学理论得到了广泛的应用. 本文介绍了国内外运用不稳定周期轨道(unstable periodic orbits, UPO)的理论研究上述规律的最新进展，也报告了本文作者在这一领域所取得的最新结果.

How the nerve system generates and transforms various information is an elementary problem in the study of neuron information coding. The theory of nonlinear dynamics has been widely used in this field. In this paper, recent progress of researching on coding law by using the theory of unstable periodic orbits is introduced, and some latest results obtained by us is reported.
