超导磁体失超过程中会产生过大内电压和局部温升,这有可能对磁体造成破坏.对超导磁体进行分段内保护是降低失超过程中内电压和局部温升的有效办法,但是分段后各段线圈之间相互耦合,使得失超过程分析复杂化.将已有的单段失超传播模型推广到分段保护磁体的失超分析,研发了失超过程仿真算法.应用该算法对MICE超导耦合磁体在不同分段保护系统下的失超过程进行仿真研究,得到了电流、电压、温度等有关物理量变化曲线.仿真结果表明,通过选择合适的分段数和分段保护电阻,可以控制MICE超导耦合磁体失超过程中内电压和局部温升在允许范围内.

Quench of superconducting magnets can induce overvoltage and overheating, which will cause destruct on the magnets. Multi-section quench protection is an effective method to control the overvoltage and overheating in the magnets during quench process, but the analysis on the multi-sectioned magnet quench is complicated because of the induction between each section. Based on a classical single section magnet quench model, a multi-sectioned magnet quench simulation algorithm was developed. Using this method, the quench processes of the MICE coupling magnet under different multi-section protections were studied. Changes of main performance parameters including current, voltage and hot spot temperature in the magnet with time were obtained. The simulation results show, with appropriate section number and protection resistance, the overvoltage and overheating in the MICE coupling magnet during quench can be controlled.
