A brief description is given of the technical modification of a Frame MS6000 gas turbine for a STIG (steam injected gas turbine) role conducted for the first ti me in China. On the basis of actual test run records presented are the performan ce parameters and main performance characteristics of the PG6531B STIG plant. It is shown that the introduction of steam injection has resulted in an enhanced p ower output and lowered specific oil consumption of the gas turbine, which has b een highly acclaimed by the Meishi Power Plant owner.
