光海君作为宣祖国王的次子,其被立为世子在朝鲜王朝内部引发了一系列的矛盾和斗争。明朝对光海君世子身份的不认可使其成为朝鲜王朝少数对明朝不够忠心的国王之一。光海君即位初期正值东北亚局势发生变革的重要时期,其在位期间的政策,特别是外交政策上的变化,体现了朝鲜王朝更重视国家实际利益的思想。

A series of contradictions and fights were aroused since Kuanghe Kun,the second son of King Sen-jo（the 14th king of Choson Dynasty） became the crown prince.Moreover,Ming Dynasty＇s disapproval of Kuanghe Kun made him one of the disloyal kings to Ming Dynasty.As his reign had to face a changeable period of reforms in Northeast Asia,diplomatic policies implemented during Kuanghe Kun＇s ruling demonstrate clearly the ideas of national benefit first.
