The concept and use of process control chart are described. The temperature data of the same furnace were analyzed using two methods, with different evaluation results obtained to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods. In the evaluation of the furnace temperature control state, the control chart was found easier to find and solve problems than the single value fluctuation chart. It is thus advised that control chart should be applied in the evaluation and monitoring of furnace temperature control state.
