This paper introduces application of software Proteus on the teaching of course of Microcomputer Principle and Interface Technology. As an example, Proteus is used to simulate the serial communication interface circuit based on 8086 CPU. Simulation steps and issues are discussed. It is concluded that it is helpful to introduce Proteus to teaching of the course for deepening students' understanding of microcomputer and interface technology, enhancing ability of research and interests of learning. The discussion is useful for the teaching of Microcomputer Principle and Interface Technology.
