To study the effects of manganese on the essential microelements in the blood of filial rats in different periods after mother-rats were exposed by manganese ,impregnated female rats were injected intraabdominally with 0,7. 5,15,30mg/kg MnCl2 for 8 times every other day,and the contents of Mn, Cu and Zn in the blood of newborn rats and 20-day-old rats were determined with atomic absorption spectroscopy. The contents of Mn in the blood of new-born rats of three experimental groups have significantly increased compared with the control group (P<0. 01)while the contents of Mn were not significantly different in the blood of 20-day-old rats among four groups (P>0. 05). The levels of Zn in the blood of new-born rats and 20-day-old rats of three experimental groups were lower than those of the control groups(P<0. 05,P<0. 01). The levels of Cu demonstrated no significant difference among four groups (P>0. 05). After impregnated female rats were exposed to manganese, their filial rats' metabolism of Mn and Zn in the blood were influenced. Their filial rats' growth and development could be harmed.
