The Chinese Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner (COCTS) was one of the most important sensors on HaiYang-1 satellites in China, and for the first time the stepping motor subsystems were successfully applied for the space remote sensing with a new on-orbit scan method home and abroad. Therefore, it is especially introduced stepping motors and associated techniques in the unique optical telescope system of COCTS.
