R-Ras作为Ras家族的成员之一,位于质膜起着“分子开关”的作用;作为GTP(guanine nucleotide binding protein)结合蛋白类,结合GTP时表现GTP酶的活性,处于激活状态,能够与下游因子相互作用,开启信号通路,调节细胞增殖,促进细胞凋亡,抑制细胞运动,调节细胞形态,调控细胞黏附分子,构塑神经突触,抑制血管再生和介导胞吐等相应的细胞生物学功能,另外,R - Ras信号通路异常与人类的肿瘤发生发展密切相关.

As a member of the Ras family of small GTPases,R-Ras plays a molecular switches role in cell signaling,between the two interconvertible forms:GDP-bound inactive and GTP-bound active forms.R-RasGTP transduces upstream signal to a downstream effectors.It regulates biological functions such as cell adhesion,apoptosis,movement,morphology,adhesion molecules,nerve synapses,differentiation,angiogenesis and exocytosis.Furthermore R-Ras signaling have been implicated in various cancer.
