This paper summarize the permissible stress range method for fatigue strength analysis which was adopted in guidance of China Classification Society (CCS). In this method, 10 equivalent design wave (EDW) state under the amplitude of dominant load parameter reaching to maximum is used as fundamental loading condition to calculate the fatigue stress,and the fatigue stress range can be calculated through the combination of fundamental loading condition.The permissible stress range formula and transfer factor of fatigue stress range were deduced.The values of permissible stress range were discussed corresponding to different S-N curves, and table of permissible stress range was given, this method was also checked by calculation on batch comer of typical container vessel.
