Healtheare-associated pneumonia (HCAP) is a new category of pneumonia, which is different from community-acquired pneumonia and hospital-acquired pneumonia. Although it is described that patients with HCAP are from the community,the epidemiology,bacteriology characteristic and clinical manifestation of HCAP are obviously different from those of community-acquired pneumonia. This article reviews research progress of HCAP in recent years,in order to furtherly recognize and understand the knowledge about HCAP for clinician.
