教育政策是一把双刃剑，既可能促进教育公平，也可能引发教育公平缺失。对于“运动员免试就读高校”这一教育政策的公平性，需将其置于教育公平原则的相互联系中全面、理性地分析。从教育公平的平等原则看，它是对现行运动训练体制下运动员平等的教育权被变相地剥夺的修正；从教育公平的差异原则看，落实运动员的教育公平必须考虑其教育起点低于同龄人的现实，并为其制定不同的入学标准；从教育公平的补偿原则看，它是对运动员因文化教育缺失而在就业中处于弱势地位的一种教育补偿。
