Extracts from toxic plants were used as botanical pesticides, with less residue, pollution-free, and low toxicity to people and livestock, to control the leaf-eating pest (Dictyoploca japonica Moore) on Juglans mandshurica both in laboratory and field, aimed to safely and effectively prevent the damage to J. mandshurica. Stomach poisoning and contact toxicity of the pesticides were determined. Results showed that, the corrected mortality rates of the botanical pesticides extracted from Pulsatilla chinensis and Cicuta virosa diluted to 10, 20, 40 times reached 95.00%, 87.50%, 85.00% and 100%, 93.75%, 85.00%; those of botanical pesticides extracted from Menispermum dauricum diluted to 10, 20 times and from Arisaema amurense diluted to 10, 20, 40 times were 91.25%, 82.25% and 93.75%, 85.00%, 80.00%; those of extracts from Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Veratrum dahuricum diluted to 10, 20, 40 times were 73.75%, 70.00%, 57.50% and 75.00%, 70.00%, 65.00%, respectively.
