根据地形、地质条件及当地筑坝材料分析,以仁达坝址为典型代表的西线一期工程中坝址附近缺乏足够可筑坝的防渗土料、河谷开阔形态呈"U"型、修建重力坝投资太高的高坝坝址,具备修建混凝土面板堆石坝及沥青混凝土心墙坝的条件.进一步的研究和论证结果表明,修建混凝土面板堆石坝及沥青混凝土心墙堆石坝在技术上均可行,混凝土面板堆石坝比沥青混凝土心墙坝方案在投资方面有优势.由于水库大坝的工期在输水线路中起控制作用,如果二种坝型投资相差不大,就采用大坝工期短的坝型.

According to the topographical, geological condition and analysis of local dam materials, Renda dam site, which is one of the typical high-dam sites in first stage of the Western Route water-transfer project, is lack of the soil materials for core wall and the cost will be much higher to construct a gravity dam. This site has a broad U-shape valley and is appropriate for constructing concrete faced rock-filled dam and embankment dam with an asphaltic concrete core. Further studies and comparisons indicated that both types of dam were technically feasible, and concrete faced rock-filled dam had distinct advantage in cost. The shorter construction period is advocated if the costs are not dramatically difference between these two types of dam for achieving short period of the construction of the transfer line.
