An analysis of 160 cases of primary rumors and tumorlike lesions of bone in children under 13 was made, including benigh tumors(76 cases), malignant tumors(37 cases), and tumorlike lesions(51 cases). Among the benigh tumors, osteochondroma stands first in frequency(49/72), followed by chordroma(10/72). Among the malignant tumors, most were osteosarcoma(27/37), and fewer were Ewing's sarcoma(9/37). Others were rare. Tumorlike iesions of bone included eosinophilic granuioma, solitary bone cyst and fibrous dysplasia. After the age of 6, the risk of malignant tumors increases gradually. Between the ages of 11-13 years it is the highest. This paper also discussed the diagnosis and treatment of bone tumors in children. The authors emphasized early diagnosis and recommended amputation for osteosacoma. After surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy, consisting of GTX, VCR, ADR should be given sequentially for 1-2 year.
