Background With the further study on the mechanisms of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury and cardioprotection, pharmacolgical postconditioning becomes the research hotspot because of its clinical application value. Objective To illustrate the endogenous protective emechanisms mimicked by pharmacolgical postconditioning, and the situation as well as prospect of protective effects of pharmacological postconditioning in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. Content To introduce the main means,targets and related drugs of pharmacolgical postconditioning. Trend The deeper researches will be done, the more drug targets will be found. Pharmacolgical postconditianingwill better applied to clinical service in patients because of its unique operative convenience.
