通过分析PDM技术在国内外的应用现状，从5个方面详细阐述了造成国内PDM应用不景气的具体原因，并针对我国企业及软件开发领域的实际情况，提出了自行开发大型PDM软件的4条策略以及企业在实施PDM项目时应遵循的3个基本原则。

The PDM is a powerful enabling technology in manufacturing field and can bring enterprises great profit. The paper analyses the current application condition of this technology inside and outside of China, and gives the details about the reasons of why PDM technology is not applied very well in China. It also describes four strategies to software developers and three basic principles to enterprises that want to implement PDM project.
