Sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone)(SPEEK) membrane was a promising proton exchange membrane material for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) due to its advantages of low cost,low methanol permeability and high proton conductivity.The methods and the progress to modify SPEEK membrane such as coating,compositing and blending with polymers were reviewed,the opinion on modifying was presented.
