Control rolling is widely used during the process of plate rolling, but it leads to low mill productitivity. By using multi-plate rolling technology, that problem can be effectively solved. This paper first introduces the concept of control rolling and the different modes of multi-plate rolling technology for single-stand and double-stand mills. Then the advantages and disadvantages of each mode are analysed. Finally, some actual production data of a plate mill using multi-plate rolling technology are presented.
