    According to the problems of teaching progress in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering,the course contents,class hour,teaching method and teacher quality are discussed,and some suggestions are given about how to make the teaching method of ＂teacher-oriented,student-centred＂ more effective,in order to improve the teaching level of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
