The development of the applications,mechanisms of sieve's change and equipments of hydrothermal treatment in the development of MTO catalysts was reviewed in this paper.It mainly focused on three directions:screening the hydrothermal stability of SAPO-34 molecular sieve,reducing the activity of fresh catalysts,simulating the activity of the industrial balance agents of SAPO-34,and modifying SAPO-34 molecular sieve catalyst.Hydrothermal treatment is playing an increasingly important role in the development of MTO catalysts.
