Thomas Hardy is a famous realistic writer. His novel Tess has much to do with religious problems, and at present it still has a lot of readers on whom it imposes great influence, so it is necessary to explore Hardy＇s religious view in this novel. This article mainly discusses it from Hardy＇s belief in retribution, omen and the aspect of passing judgement on the rights and wrongs of rehgious conditions at that time, in order to get a comprehensive idea and grasp of Hardy＇s religious attitude in this novel.
