With the quick development of wind power utility, steady and reliable machines are needed. As a kind of wind turbine researching and testing tool, wind test rig attracts much more attentions of the industry. A flail power wind turbine test rig up to 3.6MW is developed, which adopts 10kV medium voltage power supply and a medium voltage matrix converter to eliminate the normal test rig's defect with lower voltage and higher current. The rig provides test conditions for medium voltage wind turbines. Key components and technology of the test rig are researched and designed. The relevant results of test rig are given finally.
