为了适应现代信息化战争中数字化部队、网络中心战和全球信息栅格对协同作战的要求,美军推出了软件无线电通信架构(SCA)、软件定义无线电(SDR)数字化实验室总体架构。以软件无线电为基础,开发了一种适用于所有军种的战术电台系列,以提高战术电台的通信速率、容量和互通性。从减少电台品种和数量出发,组建弹性系统骨架,使设备规范化、小型化。采用SCA规范用单一可编程无线电台满足语音、数据、图像和视频四种战术通信需求,取代不同型号电台,包括40多种波形,应用范围涉及机栽、地面移动、固定站海上通信及个人通信,并可扩展到空间平台。提供的软件开发和验证解决方案适用于SCASDR数字化实验室的建设。

To meet requirements of cooperative operations for digital forces in modern information wars, network centric warfare and global information grid, the U.S. Army launchs a software communication architecture (SCA) and a digital laboratory architecture for software defined radio (SDR). Based on the technology of SDR, a tactical radio series applicable to all services is devel- oped to improve the speed of the tactical radio communication, capacity, and interoperability. A flexible system skeleton is constructed to realize equipment standardization and miniaturization, so that the required radio variety and the quantity are reduced. By the SCA standard, a single programmable radio can enable the four major types of tactical communication (i. e. , voice, data, image, and video), thus it can be used to replace different types of radio. And it supports more than 40 waveforms, covering the application in stations airborne, moving on the gound, fixed on the sea, personal communication, and those on a space-based platform. The schemes for software development and validation can be applied to the SCA SDR digital laboratory construction.
