A key to the species of the genus Gryllotalpa from China is given, A new species, G.mabiana sp. nov., is descrilbed.The new species is similar to G. pygmaea found in Nepal, from which it may be distinguished by radius undivided distally,stridulatory area shaped as triangle, and hteral tip of transversal sclerite of epiphallus acute. G. mabiana sp. nov. is also similar to G. henana, but can be distinguished by: the fore wing reaching beyond the fifth tergite, hind wing reaching posterior margin of forth tergite; pronotum without cordate soulptural marks; parameres as hook-shaped.
