为了模拟计算研究2维三角形光子晶体波导自成像多模干涉的耦合特性,提出一种2维光子晶体2端口分束器.基于自成像多模干涉效应,采用有限时域差分法,数值计算和分析了这种分束器的特性.结果表明,这种分束器每个输出端的反射率低于0.002,透射率可高达0.498,造成这种现象的物理原因是多模干涉区的自成像效应.这种多模干涉在光子晶体光学集成电路中具有重要的潜在应用价值.

In order to study the characteristics of multimode interference effect and self-imaging principle in 2-D triangle photonic crystal waveguides,a 2-D 2-port photonic crystal splitter was proposed.The characteristics of the splitter was calculated and analyzed with finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method based on the multimode interference effect and the self-imaging principle.The results show the reflectance of each output end of the splitter is smaller than 0.002,and its transmittance is larger than 0.498 because of the self-imaging effectin the multi-mode region.This kind of multi-mode interference may find potential application in integrated circuit of photonic crystal.
